Why Choose Will the Tutor for Subject Tutoring?
It’s rare for a tutor to excel in both Humanities and STEM, but my background has set me up to provide high-level tutoring in both right-brain and left-brain subjects.
Right Brain: I was a Math-Science kid growing up. I got straight As in Calc AB, Calc BC, AP Physics 1, Ap Bio, and AP Chemistry.
Left Brain: While I was great at STEM classes, I fell in love with Literature at the age of 17 and went off to study it, write papers, and revise other student’s papers for the majority of college.

Why Choose Will the Tutor for Test Prep?
My first job after undergrad was as an ACT/SAT prep tutor with Huntington Learning Center. Huntington had an established test-prep curriculum that I mastered. After leaving Huntington, I began to create my own curriculum for teaching ACT/SAT test-prep which pulls from the best test-prep services such as Khan Academy, The Princeton Review, and The Official ACT and SAT Prep Guides.
I’ve found over the years that one size does not fit all with preparing for standardized tests. Your advantage of going with Will the Tutor as your test-prep coach is that I will tailor my vast knowledge of the test-prep landscape into whatever your family is looking for.
Need a month-long 4-hour-a-week blitz to raise your child’s ACT scores up by 3 points? Go with Will the Tutor. Looking for a year-long methodical plan to get your child a score that can get them into Harvard? Go with Will the Tutor.

Why Choose Will the Tutor for Admissions Guidance?
Simply put, I’m a great planner and even better essay editor. Applying to college is a complex puzzle. It helps to have someone there to guide you through the deadlines, planning, interview prep, resume prep, and personal essay writing.
Think of me as a personalized guidance counselor who also acts as a high-level copy editor of the all-important college essay. My college years of helping students write humanities papers served as a great foundation for helping high school seniors figure out how to master the “who am I and what do I believe in” essay.
I was admitted into the US Naval Academy, UCLA, and Columbia University—all schools with an acceptance rate of less than 10%. Whether your child is looking looking to get into a UC or an Ivy, personalized support is an immensely valuable tool and that’s what you get with Will the Tutor.
“Our 11 year-old twins are very bright kids, but struggled with different aspects of fifth grade math and reading comprehension. As their mother, I had a hard time helping them without confusing them even more, and it often ended in arguments and frustration. That all ended once we hired Will! It was as if he walked in with a magic wand and was able to explain things to both of them in a way that made complete sense from day one. No more frustration, no more arguments, just a joy for learning. Will is able to get on their level and explain things in a way that simply makes sense. His calm and laid back approach worked wonders for both of our twins. He has patience for days and is incredibly comprehensive in the way he explains his lessons. Will may very well be the reason why our kids now love school and actually look forward to completing their homework! Besides being brilliant and dependable, Will is truly one of the kindest people we’ve ever met. Don’t think twice. - hire Will yesterday!”
